Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is the single most common reason for a UK medical cannabis prescription — accounting for approximately 49% of patients, according to peer-reviewed analysis published in BJPsych Open. This includes neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, arthritis, lower back pain, chronic regional pain syndrome, spinal injuries, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and pain linked to endometriosis. For patients like Zoe from Hertfordshire — who told LBC she had been living with life-altering pain from fibromyalgia, arthritis and a spinal injury before receiving her prescription in 2018 — medical cannabis changed the quality of her life when nothing else had.
