The Story
The Story in Brief
Medical cannabis was legalised for prescription in the UK in November 2018. Since then an estimated 95,000 patients have obtained valid prescriptions from GMC-registered specialist doctors — a number projected to exceed 141,000 by 2028. These patients use a legal, clinically prescribed treatment. And yet there is almost nowhere in the UK designed specifically for them to use it safely, legally and without stigma.
UKMC Lounge is the first organisation in the UK to build a dedicated private members space for this community — combining lounge access, professional workspace, premium alcohol-free refreshments, a curated events programme, patient education and a growing national network. The flagship location opens in Central Norwich in Q1 2027. London, Birmingham and Manchester follow.
This is not a cannabis café. It is not a recreational venue. It is a professional private members community — built around the legal rights and genuine daily needs of a patient community that has been largely invisible in UK public life.
